July 19, 2011 – Clarence Nero
Challenged by the murder of his brother just months before, Clarence Nero wanted the Bayou Soul Writers and Readers Conference to provide a stage for the literary arts ahead of the Essence Music Festival, one of the largest music and performing arts festivals in the country. With the literary blessings of Dr. Maya Angelou and some sage advice from now-deceased author E. Lynn Harris, Clarence forged his talents to make his mark among urban fiction authors with his novels that quickly became bestsellers, like Temptations of Desire - and honored his brother’s memory along the way.
