These are four of the most amazing young poets you will ever meet. In Part 1, you’ll meet three middle school students – Vanessa, Adon and Deandre – who were motivated by their reading teacher, Delaine Wright, to share themselves with the world through writing. Amidst the challenges of coming of age, they see horrific things that a child should never endure. Yet they do and they pen their pains in poetry.
In Part 2, you’ll meet LaNaria, a sixteen year old high school student who, by her own words, was a reluctant reader who always felt different. Finding a discarded book, a new world was opened, giving her a glimpse of her creative spirit. Her new book, Shepardess: A Collection of Poems and Short Stories, is scheduled for a Fall 2011 release.
